All-new 2022 Skoda Fabia is here.
Skoda has finally taken the wraps off the new Fabia and it is built on the same MQB A0 platform as the Mk6 Volkswagen Polo. Despite the fact that the new Mk6 Polo was introduced back in 2017, It took Skoda more than three years to unveil the Fabia based on the same platform.
With the new MQB A0 platform from the Mk6 Polo, the new Skoda Fabia is much larger than the model it replaces. With a wheelbase of 2,564mm, the new Skoda Fabia houses 52mm more space between its wheels than the first-generation Skoda Octavia and also house sedan like 380-litre boot space.
The new Skoda
Fabia looks sporty yet smart with slimmer LED headlights, a new hexagonal
grille, crisp body lines and a new two-part tail lamp. The interior on the other
hand is simple but with a strong sense of sophistication, which is further
heightened with the use of a large 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a
9.2-inch infotainment unit with the latest connectivity features.
The new Skoda
Fabia is also equipped with all the latest bells and whistles like dual-zone
climate control, wireless charging, heated windshield, heated steering wheel,
gesture control and voice assistant.
As for the
all-important safety features, the new Skoda Fabia comes with level-2 autonomous
driving aids which includes lane tracking, adaptive cruise control, hands-free
parking and emergency braking assistance.
The new Skoda
Fabia comes with a choice of three petrol engines, of which there are three
choices of engines. The first two engines are 1.0-litre 3-cylinder units with 65hp
and 80hp of power and come with a choice of a manual and an automatic gearbox.
Whereas the third engine option is a more potent 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine
with 150hp and comes mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
It is still
unknown when Skoda will launch the new Fabia in the Middle East, but we suspect
the Skoda to launch new Fabia by December 2021.
