2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo is here!
The 2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo is here and like always the updates are barely noticeable from the inside and out, this is because of implementing a Japanese philosophy called the ‘Kaizen’.
Since, the introduction of Nissan GT-R in 2007, it has followed the Kaizen method of engineering and revolves around continuous development. By following the Kaizen method, it sometimes becomes difficult for an untrained person to notice the differences in the newer models.
Apparently, the differences do exist and these small minor upgrades contribute to larger overall gains. To understand the depth of the Kaizen method, engineers at Nismo went to an extent of removing paint from the bonnet to save 100gms from the overall weight.
For the 2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo, Nissan brings a new paint scheme inspired by the tarmac of various racetracks and it is bespoke to the 2022 Nismo variant.
Even though Nissan continues to use the same 3.8-litre V6
engine, Nissan has replaced the turbochargers from its predecessor with the
turbochargers from its GT-3 racing counterpart. The new turbochargers along
with new uprated internals puts-out 600hp.
The uprated turbochargers are accompanied by few internal tweaks as per Nissan and are in form of new high-precision weight balanced parts like piston rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, flywheel, crank pulley, and valve springs resulting in quicker revs and quicker spooling of the turbocharger.
However, the braking system has been carried from the
previous model without any upgrades, it is still 410mm at the front and 390mm
at the rear.
What is Nissan GT-R Nismo?
It is a dying breed of supercar that feels like a proper
analogue machine. If you are in the market for one, then go ahead and buy it.
