What should you buy, a Porsche 911 Carrera or a Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0?

Buying any Porsche is always a great choice but buying the right one is like choosing your coffee at a coffee house-everything has the same basic ingredient yet very different.

What if you need an entry-level Porsche? You can’t buy the 2.5L 4-cylinder ones, that will be like buying a coffee without the coffee in it.

So, you are left with Boxter GTS 4.0 or slightly more driver focused-Cayman GTS 4.0 or the timeless-911 Carrera.

Unlike other sports cars, buying any of these will give you at least 8/10 happiness but once again, which one will give you 10/10 happiness?

For the sake of fair comparison, let's focus on the coupe body styles.

Even before the comparison starts, you may assume that everything is stacked against the Porsche 911 with its muffled 3.0L turbocharged engine, larger overall dimensions, and a 78,000AED price jump over the athletic and sonorous Cayman GTS 4.0

The fact is, these types of cars cannot be judged with specifications printed on paper, It all boils down to your preferences and priorities.

The Cayman looks and feels great, but It is when you step inside the 911 and come back to see the Cayman that you may feel a little awkward.

The attention to detail and quality that a 911 gets from Porsche is far greater and superior compared to the Cayman.  You get the latest of everything from Porsche inside the 911 Carrera, whereas the Cayman GTS 4.0 will feel “last-gen” from the moment you start noticing the interior and other details.

So, it boils down to your preferences. If you love engaging yourself in track activities and miss the sensation of driving a naturally-aspirated sports car with a manual transmission, look no further than the Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0.

On the other hand, if you need a Porsche, get yourself a Porsche 911 Carrera-there is nothing like it out there yet.
