Forget the new BMW M3. BMW M340i xDrive is what you should buy.
The whole automotive world is drooling over the new BMW M3 and M4 for their breath-taking performance and driving precision, but do you really need one?
90%
of the people who own performance cars do not even take those cars to any track
day events or car meets. Considering the daily needs with a hint of
hooliganism, the BMW M340i xDrive makes much more sense than these full-blown
BMW M cars.
Yes,
I do admit that the new BMW M3 has a lot more performance and street credential
than the mundane BMW M340i xDrive.
The
fact is, we automotive journalist love fast cars, and we do not need to spend a
penny on driving or servicing these rocket ships. This is not the case with the
public, when you buy a performance car you have to bear the bombshell of
expenses that come along with it.
We
do those stuff because we don’t have to pay for it, and we are being paid while
doing that. Cool, right? I know.
Talking about the performance numbers, you have to be absolutely bonkers to feel that 0-100kph in 4.4seconds is not fast enough. Yes, the new generation of semi M-car is faster than the V8-powered M3’s of the last decade and to round it off, they even come with all-wheel drive so that you don’t end up facing the wrong way when showing off.
The new BMW M340i xDrive with its 3.0L Inline-6 pushes out 382hp and 500Nm of torque, which is good for an everyday dose of fun without drilling a hole in your bank account.
Then
who should buy the new BMW M3? The people who absolutely know what they are
biting into, if not the BMW M3 is not the right car for you.
