Five things you must keep in your SUV

If you happen to own an SUV and do occasional off-roading, you must keep these five things in your SUV for your safety and survival.

 1.  Puncture -Repair kit.

I will say that this is a very essential kit in every car irrespective of the type of car you drive.  Having a puncture can ruin our entire day, a puncture kit can save us at critical times. Small punctures up to 1-inch can be healed using these kits and fairly simple to use.

2.   Portable Tyre Inflator.

If you happen to own an SUV then it is a must-have accessory. The majority of the off-road capability of your SUV depends upon the tyres you use.

It is often the traction available at tyres that hinders an SUV from completing a challenge. A great way to improve your traction during off-roading on sand or mud is to reduce the tyre pressure to increase the footprint and thus improving the overall traction.

Having a tyre inflator in your car will give you the confidence to not only drop the tyre pressure for better off-roading but you can also use it to keep the right air pressure for maximum tyre life.

3.   Portable Jump Starter.

Heading into the wilderness on a weekend can be one of the best things you can do with your SUV.

Nowadays, even while enjoying nature, we are surrounded by gadgets to keep us connected with the world. Sometimes while charging these gadgets, it is easy for us to find ourselves stranded in the middle of the wilderness with a dead SUV.

Having a portable Jump Starter could be the difference between making our way back home peacefully or getting rescued.

      4.   Traction Boards/ Traction Mats.

A Traction board/mat is a simple piece of tool that can help you while stuck on sand or mud. As I mentioned earlier, it is the limited traction available at the wheels that often hinders your SUV while off-roading and getting stuck while off-roading is part of the fun.

When your SUV is stuck in sand/mud, just slide these(Traction boards/traction mats) under the tyres of instant traction to get your SUV out of the tricky situation.

5.   Food and Water.

This may seem like an overkill for a few among you, but I cannot tell you how much they are important when something goes wrong in your SUV while off-roading in the wilderness. (Tip: Make sure you have 5-litres of water and snacks for 3 days.)
