2022 Mercedes C63 AMG

The last generation Mercedes Benz C63 AMG had a massive 6.3L naturally aspirated engine and when the current generation C63 AMG was unveiled back in 2015, it was really disappointing to see the end of 6.3L naturally aspirated V8 due to strict emission regulations.

The disappointment did not last long enough. The new turbocharged 4.0L V8 unit not only produced more power and torque but proved to be as fun as the old naturally aspirated V8.

However, there is a new Mercedes C63 AMG just around the corner and it will be a Hybrid. The petrol-powered motor will be a 2.0L 4-Cylinder turbocharged unit and the total power output is speculated to be around 550hp.

It is still not clear whether the upcoming C63 AMG will be rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive but given the complexity in developing a hybrid powertrain and developing two distinct versions of it does not seem feasible enough for a corporate.

So, it is more likely that the upcoming Mercedes C63 AMG will come with an all-wheel drive as standard.

Expect a bump in price and weight of the new C63 AMG when it finally arrives next year.
