This is the most powerful M car ever.

BMW has been creating a lot of stir online with their latest M5 CS, and they have finally released all the details regarding it. This is the first time that BMW has given the ‘CS’ badge for M5, and when a BMW wears a ‘CS’ badge, it must be a race car in disguise.

BMW says that their new creation is the best iteration of M5 yet, and the new BMW M5 CS has undergone some serious changes to become worthy of the 'CS' badge.

For starters, BMW has made some neat changes to differentiate it from the standard model by using matte gold accents on the kidney-grille and wheels. To further up the aggression, BMW has used motor-racing style yellow-DRLs and added a couple of vents on the bonnet.

On the inside, things look much more aggressive with the deletion of rear bench seat-which means you can now seat only 4 people, the front seats are light-weight CFRP bucket seats designed to hold you firmly during high-speed cornering, while most of the metallic and plastic bits are now replaced by CFRP.

The heart is still the same 4.4L twin-turbo unit but now produces 626hp and 750Nm of torque, which makes it the most powerful M car ever. The power is sent to all four wheels via 8-speed automatic transmission for optimal power distribution.

For most people, 10hp bump does not seem much, but the CS models are not meant for those people who brag about numbers printed on a brochure. CS models are aimed at people who appreciate small improvements.

Engineers at BMW have shaved 104kg from the standard model by implementing various weight-saving measures. To complement reduced weight, BMW has retuned the springs and updated the dampers.

The result is 0-62mph time of 3.0 seconds; which is an improvement of 0.3 seconds over the competition model, 0-124mph is dispatched in just 10.4 seconds and onto an electronically limited top speed of 189mph.

Where I think the BMW M5 CS will slaughter the competition will be on the racetrack.
As we already know that the BMW M5 does not need any more additional dose of performance to stay with the competition, but as the competition from the Stuttgart based manufacturer has become closer than ever before, this is an important launch for BMW to hold the dominant position.
