NIO ET7 with 1000km range in a single charge.

NIO is a Chinese EV manufacturer with experience in Formula E. NIO rose to fame after the launch of NIO EP9 electric supercar.

NIO is now back in limelight with NIO ET7. Unlike the NIO EP9, NIO ET7 is a premium sedan.

From the outside, NIO ET7 looks simple, sharp and completely futuristic. The NIO ET7 has a fastback silhouette for improving aerodynamics and practicality.

The interior is also equally minimalistic and simple. One can clearly see that the foundation for design has been inspired by Tesla. The main highlight of NIO ET7’s interior is its “invisible” air vents.

Like any other EV’s, the dashboard is dominated by a huge 12.8-inch infotainment unit. Despite using such a huge central display, NIO has given a dedicated 10.2-inch display for the driver.

As a premium car, NIO ET7 also uses a 23-speaker sound system to keep its occupants entertained.

Being electric, the NIO ET7 utilises state of the art autonomous driving system. Unlike conventional autonomous driving tech, this utilises eleven cameras, a LiDAR system and NIO’s “Adam” computer for which the user needs to pay on monthly basis to use this one.

Now, let’s get to the main headline-“1000kms on a single charge”. This version of the NIO ET7 will utilise a 150kWh battery pack, which will be available to the public by 2022.

For now, there is a 50 kWh battery version with 500km range and 70kWh battery version with 700km range. Both these versions come with dual-motor setup that produces 643hp and 850Nm of torque, which is enough for 0-100kph sprint under 3.9 seconds.

For now, NIO ET7 is sold exclusively in China, It starts from Yuan 448,000 (Dhs 253,900) and goes as far as Yuan 526,000 (Dhs 298,200). If this seems costly, there is an option to pay just the base price and pay for the battery on monthly basis through Baas (Battery as a Service).
