Audi’s small steps towards electrification with Audi A3 Sportback 45 TFSI e.
After the Diesel Gate scandal, Volkswagen group is doing everything to rub that dirt of its face. The result of which is the electrification of more and more cars under their roof.
The
latest one to get the shock is Audi’s A3 Sportback, the new model is named Audi
A3 Sportback 45 TFSI e.
The new 2021 Audi A3 Sportback 45 TFSI e uses a turbocharged 1.4-litre engine along with an electric motor, a combined output of 242 hp and 400 Nm is produced. Power is sent solely to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Being hybrid, power is delivered briskly with 100kph coming up in just 6.8 seconds from a standstill and onto a top speed of 232 kph.
The
electric motor is powered by a 13-kWh battery, which helps the new Audi A3
Sportback 45 TFSI e to run in pure EV mode for 63 kms while doing speeds up to
140 kph.
The
relatively small 13kWh battery is also quick to charge, taking just 5 hours
from a regular power socket.
Just
like every Audi, the exterior and interior are sharp and crisp. There are few
new detailing also, such as DRL’s that mimic the English alphabet “E”.
Being
rich in fossil fuels, Audi has not confirmed whether we will receive this in
GCC markets.
