Range Rover Evoque Updated for 2021

For 2021, JLR has been riding a huge wave of updates following the introduction of Pivi Pro infotainment system. Even though the second-generation Land Rover Evoque was unveiled just couple of years ago, JLR has decided to update it for 2021 as part of updating its entire product line-up.

The new update primarily focuses on updating its electronics to improve the user interface and make the system more intuitive as well as user-friendly.

The heart of the update is the new Electrical Vehicle Architecture from JLR, first introduced in Land Rover Defender. This features two LTE modems from Qualcomm in which one of them is dedicated for over-the-air software updates, while the other is used for streaming apps and music.

The new Pivi pro infotainment system uses QNX operating system which is powered by faster Snapdragon processors. The above-mentioned updates are also meant to be compatible with next-gen driver assistance and features to pamper both the driver as well as passenger in utmost safety and convenience.

The new update also brings-in new 3-spoke steering wheel with capacitive-touch buttons, USB-C ports, an optional wireless charging pad and “Advanced Cabin Air Filtration” system.

However, Land Rover has stripped the mild-hybrid powertrain as part of the update. In its place is the same 2.0L turbocharged Ingenium petrol engine mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission but without the 48-volt electrical system. The current version is rated at 246hp and 346Nm, which is slightly down on power and torque due to lack of electric motor.

The new Land Rover Evoque is already available in some western countries, expect the updated model to be available in GCC showrooms soon.
