Hyundai Genesis GV70 is here

Imagine Hyundai cars being compared alongside Mercedes-Benzs, BMWs and Audis. That is what Hyundai is aiming with the overhaul of its luxury brand Genesis.

The GV70 is the second SUV under Genesis brand. The design is unmistakably Hyundai’s new design language albeit with more curves and haunches than edgy cuts.

The vehicle’s exterior looks fresh and young, yet it is somehow elegant, classy and feels more mature. On the inside the same exterior lines are gracefully carried out and feels like a proper premium segment SUV.

Like many modern cars, the interior is dominated by a wide 14.5” touchscreen infotainment unit while the driver gets an additional 12.3” digital instruments with neatly laid out graphics.

The base model is powered by a 2.5L four banger that churns out a healthy 300hp, while the 3.5L V6 engine from GV80 is still in the pipeline which may later be available in top trims.

The 2022 Genesis G70 definitely has the design to sweep you right off your feet but does it have the dynamics and feel of a premium SUV? Do let us know what you think.
