2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
Mitsubishi created quite a stir back in 2018 when they brought back the “Eclipse” name into their product portfolio, but that enthusiasm was quickly curbed with unveiling of Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. It is not that this crossover is bad or ugly looking but it's rather the emotion associated with the name.
The original Mitsubishi Eclipse is a front wheel drive 2-seater sports car which had a strong cult following. The fan base kept growing following the release of the movie 2Fast 2Furious which featured Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Tyrese Gibson.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross was seen as an unwantedly over styled crossover with coupe-like silhouette. The design also favoured form over function, which greatly affected the driver’s visibility.
However, Mitsubishi has revamped the design for 2022. The frontend now gets a blacked-out grille and new bumper guard. Whereas the rear of the car is now much better without the full width tail lamp which in-turn greatly improves the rear visibility.
Overall, the new update is a positive sign that Mitsubishi is listening to its customers and not afraid to swim against the tide of automotive trends.
